Week #3: Nature - Trees
This week, we were asked to focus on trees and write a paragraph or so about the tree.
My Dirt Road. I loved growing up on this dirt road. I am so happy that my kids get to do so as well. The six trees on the left are Crepe Myrtles that were transplanted from my Grandma's yard after she passed away.

Week #1: Macro - In the Kitchen
I love these challenges as it makes me read more into a subject to understand what I need to do to complete the challenge of the task.
After several attempts & learning what NOT to do, I came out with several favorites this week. The first one is the one that was chosen to represent my attempt on Flickr for the photochallenge.org group by my daughter as she said it was her favorite.
"Wooden Spoons"

Before & After
As of today, I am 8 weeks post-op from my back surgery. Since I am able to be up and mobile again, I needed to get behind the camera again. Last week, I took a trip to Emerald Isle, NC. During my last day on the island, I took what I do believe is my most favorite picture I have ever done. So, below, I have put in the original & the edited versions to see how much editing I do with a picture I take.
Edited: On this particular one, I cropped, adjusted the lighting, then added my copyright.

Round Robin Challenge: Being Green
So the object was 'Begin Green', green is my most favorite color, however, where we are that color is not appearing quite yet because of the icky weather. Upside, I am not in the snow like my sister in NY.
Sitting at my youngest son's soccer game the other night, I made a comment to my husband about how the Bermuda Grass is beginning to come in on the fields. So, I went through the pics I took of the game and chose the one below. Because of the little boy in the side picture decided that he has a soccer ball for a heart, I have spend many a Spring on a soccer pitch. I love when the grass begins to come in because I know warm weather isn't too far off. (Yes, it's the same kid, just a 10 year age difference.) :)

Photo Friday: Female
This past weekend at my son's soccer tournament (which they won by the way!), an opposing team-member's little sister took advantage of an empty field at halftime and began doing gymnastics. I kept snapping pictures just as practice and came out with a winner.

Round Robin Challenge: The White Stuff
For my White Stuff Challenge, I couldn't make up my mind!
So, chose a pic I took from my iPhone last week when I was flying from Charlotte to Dallas/Fort Worth of the clouds.
(There is zero editing done to this, as I wanted it as 'pure' as possible.)

Week 1: Landscape
One of the hundreds of entrances to the woods on my parents property.
I have had so many adventures in there and they continue to still hold wonder and awe.

So It Begins
Back in February of this year, I bought myself a camera. The purchase of the camera was to basically take better pictures of my kids playing sports.
Well, that has happened, and then some.
I have been trying slowwwwwwlllllyyyyyy to learn what all my camera will do with lots of trial and error.
I have done lots of reading and have a notebook I carry with me pretty much all the time to have to re-read and remember as much as I can. I also try to make sure my camera with with me as much as possible even if my kids aren't playing that day.
I began looking for photography challenges to help me learn as I go. So far, I have found 2 that I have began to take or taken the pictures for, but not submitted them. I set up this blog as part of my personal photography journey as well as one of the places that I post the pictures that I take for the said challenges.
The photos I am more proud of than others, I want to showcase on the sidebar, but things may change.
To start off, I'd like to show you my submission for photochallenge.org.
